Our pay is leading the way for online language learning platforms. We pay the best because our teachers are the best! Our Native Teachers can make up to US$35 per hour. You’ll receive your money by PayPal or Wise on a bi-weekly basis.

Teaching Certifications

Mylinguist asks that you upload your certifications, including degrees, diplomas, and certificates

(i.e. TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.).

Mylinguist asks that you create a short video introduction. 

 

This video is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself and share a little about your background. It also gives future students a chance to see your personality and learn more about your preferred teaching style.

FAQ About Us

  • Which lesson length is best to improve my English skills?
    We recommend taking the 55 minute, 3 lessons per week course to noticeably improve your English skills.
  • Are lessons applicable for kids and adults?
    Yes, curriculums are tailored based on the level of the student.
  • If I can't attend the lesson, is there a way I can reschedule it?
    Yes, lessons can be rescheduled if requested 12 hours before the scheduled start time.
  • Will I get notified with my monthly subscription?
    Payment for Monthly Subscription Plans are automatically renewed every month and a confirmation email will be sent to you together with your payment receipt and lesson schedule.
  • What will happen to my unused lessons if I can no longer take classes?
    Unused lessons are transferable to another student.
  • Are there any bonuses and promotions I can avail?
    Yes, we give discounts and free lessons for every referral you have.
  • Can I book lessons with Native-only Speaker?
    Yes, you can customize your lessons by visiting this page:
  • Which plan should I choose if I have taken English classes in the past but am unsure of my level?
    We advise you to take our free trial lesson to see how well you speak English. Based on your results, we will suggest the ideal plan for your level at a time that works for you.
  • I speak English fluently, but I’m not a native speaker. Can I still apply to teach with Mylinguist?
    Of course! We accept both, native and fluent speakers, so if you have all of the necessary documents, please feel free to apply!
  • Does Mylinguist provide teaching materials?
    Yes! For Group Classes, we provide the curriculum, so you can just focus on the teaching.
  • How will I be paid?
    Mylinguist will pay you on a bi-weekly basis using your choice of PayPal or Wise.
  • Can I take a holiday?
    Yes, but you will need to notify us of the date(s) 10+ days in advance.
  • How many hours do I need to commit to per week?
    We ask that teachers commit to a minimum of 10 hours of teaching, at least.
  • Can I set my own schedule?
    Of course! For Group Classes, the class times are dependent on the students' availability, so you can simply choose to 'opt-in' at that scheduled time. For 1-on-1 classes, you can select what day and time you're available throughout the week.
  • What happens if the student cancels or doesn't show up? Will I still get paid?
    If a student doesn't show up after 15 minutes, the student will be considered 'absent' and you will still be paid for the class.
  • Are there any cancellation penalties?
    We understand that varying factors, from time to time, may mean that you have to cancel a class. If you need to cancel a class, please email us at: my-linguist@outlook.com
